Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Gerald Darr DeJean II was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana. He graduated from Westminster Christian Academy before moving to Baton Rouge to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2007.
Dr. DeJean always felt called back home, so in 2010 he returned to the area and began practicing in Lafayette, Louisiana. A few years later, Dr. DeJean was given the opportunity to join Dr. Albert Huguet in his practice in Opelousas, Louisiana, fulfilling Dr. DeJean’s dream to serve the people of his hometown. Upon Dr. Huguet’s passing, Dr. DeJean had the honor of taking over the practice. Since then, Dr. DeJean has been committed to the staff, patients, and legacy of Dr. Huguet. Dr. DeJean prides himself on bringing top-notch dentistry to his hometown.
Dr. Darr DeJean is a member of the American Dental Association, the Acadiana District Dental Association, and the Louisiana Dental Association. When he is not practicing dentistry he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Laura, and their two daughters.

Jody resides in Port Barre with her husband, John, and her daughter, Danielle. She began working at Dr Huguet’s office in 1994 in the front office. She considers patients family, and her goal is to make the office warm and welcoming to everyone.
Roxanne Torian

Roxanne resides in Washington, LA with her husband, Lawson and two daughters, Peyton and Audrey. She attended Acadian Career College where she received her certification as a dental assistant. Roxanne loves making the patients feel at home. When she is not in the office Roxanne enjoys fishing and spending quality time with her family and animals.

Crystal was born and raised in Opelousas and now lives in Port Barre. She is married and has three boys. She has been a dental assistant since 2006. She enjoys meeting new people and helping patients feel comfortable at the dental office.
Marla Andrus
Receptionist
Marla retired after 30 years of employment from the practice of the late Dr. Al Huguet, only to return 5 1/2 years later to so many of the same faces of many loved patients and employees. She is a wife, a mother of two daughters and a grandmother of three wonderful grandchildren. She was born and raised in Opelousas and now resides in the Grand Prairie area. She considers it a blessing to work with such a focused and devoted team.
Wendy Rogers
Hygienist
Wendy has been a practicing hygienist for over 40 years. She has enjoyed building lasting relationships with patients while providing oral health education and preventive care. She resides in Opelousas with her husband, Glyn. They have three amazing children and two beautiful grandchildren. Wendy enjoys being outdoors, cycling, and tennis.

Emily was born and raised in Opelousas, LA where she currently resides. She received her bachelor’s of science degree in dental hygiene at LSU School of Dentistry. Emily enjoys helping her patients achieve and maintain a smile they are proud of. Outside of work Emily enjoys spending time with friends, family and her fur baby JoJo.
Shelly Boone
Hygienist
Shelly is from Rayne and currently resides in Lafayette with her husband of 23 years and their 12 year old daughter. She is a 2000 graduate of the Lamar University Dental Hygiene School in Beaumont, Texas. She has thoroughly enjoyed caring for patients in the Acadiana area for twenty years. Shelly enjoys reading, baking, and traveling with her family.
